  Las Vegas Skyline

  With the dramatic scenery unfolding below – desert, mountain ranges and winding rivers I landed at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas. Looking out of the window I could not believe my eyes – were these the famous “strip” hotels – Mandalay Bay, Luxor, MGM Grand and many more standing proud, just literally, across from the runway. Anywhere else in the world these would have been branded “airport hotels”! Not in Las Vegas!

• Hard Hat Tour of the New Hilton, Heathrow Terminal 5

  "Health & Safety" above fashion girls!

  A few of the Conference Contacts team decided it was high time that we had a sneak preview of the new Hilton property located on Poyle Road, about a mile from Terminal 5. The design concept of the property is that it should not actually look or feel like an airport hotel. With triple glazing and set in 13 acres of landscape grounds with views of Windsor Castle, we have to agree, it certainly has escaped the stereotype.

• The Ivy Restaurant

  Lemon delight!

  Rezidor recently hosted their summer Supper club at the famous Ivy Restaurant, on West End Street, London. I was lucky enough to receive an invitation, and to experience the Ivy first hand. Our meal was served in the private dining room on the 1st floor, a great space for an outside dinner venue. The room can accommodate up to 60 people banquet style or 120 for a canapé reception. The Ivy creates unique atmosphere and provided us with excellent service and fantastic food. My favourite course had to be the sublime lemon dessert, I couldn’t resist taking a photo, before polishing it off!
